Association for Social and Health Advancement (ASHA-ODISHA) is a non-government organization registered under the Registration of Society Act XXI of 1860 vide Number NPD 1580/04/04/ of 2007-2008. ASHA-ODISHA is a pool of rich academic excellence and professional experiences of a team of likeminded individuals joining hands from versatile background in social sectors with an attitude for finding solution of local issues that are affecting life quality and dignity. It’s working for the improvement of socio-economic and health status of the people.

Association for Social and Health Advancement (ASHA) is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization which has been working to improve the socio-economic and health status of disadvantaged communities since its inception.

The organization strives to assist disadvantaged communities in improving their life conditions, and to carry out capacity building interventions in the socioeconomic and health sectors.

The organization undertakes development activities that are community-centred, user-planned and managed, people owned, gender-sensitive, culturally respectful and client-centered.



Health (especially reproductive & child health)    /Education   / Livelihoods /Environment, Water and Sanitation,Human Resource Development (Technical, Social & Vocational),Gender is a cross cutting across all sectors



We presently operate in the districts of Nuapada. Bargargh & Keonjhar in Orissa State.

Inclusion :

All households must be involved in the development process and must benefit equitably. Participation of all households in the settlement is a non-negotiable condition of the programme.

Social Equity :

Representation of all sections of the community in decision-making processes across caste, economic status and other barriers to ensure that a level playing field is created.

Gender Equity :

Equal representation and participation of men and women in community level decision-making and control.

Sustainability :

Development processes have built-in institutional and financial mechanisms for sustainability, and are necessarily based on sound environmental values.

Cost sharing & Participation :

We believe community participation & ownership comes only by participation. Hence in any form their participation is mandatory.
