4.0        Brief History of the Organization:

Manav Vikas Seva Sangh (MVSS) was registered on 26th December, 1989 under M.P. Firms and Societies Registration Act with a special stress to work in the Developmental field.  This is the official organization of Sagar Diocese which looks after the social uplift of the people.  The society is concerned in the welfare of the community without the distinction of caste, creed, religion, race or other limiting considerations. It aims for the betterment of the poor by rendering formal and non formal education in order to make people aware of their rights and duties as well as to develop leadership. So that they inculcate the values of truth, justice, equality, love, co-operation and brotherhood. Our Honorable  Dr. Antony Chirayath, Bishop of Sagar is the President and Fr. Shaju Devassy is the  present secretary of the society.

 

5.0        Vision and Mission:

Vision: We visualize communities where all enjoy equal rights, opportunities and the members respect each other and live in harmony with the nature and the Divine.

Mission: Empowering the people to have access to their rights and opportunities as well as bringing about systematic changes in view of good governance and social cohesion.

 

6.0        Objectives:

  • Providing assistance to the poor to alleviate their immediate needs;
  • Supporting self-help programs which involve people and communities in their own development;
  • Helping those it serves to restore and preserve their dignity and to realise their potential and sustain them;
  • Collaborating with other religious and non-sectarian persons and groups of goodwill in programs and projects which contribute to a more equitable society;
  • Responding to victims of natural and man-made disasters;
  • Promote integrated and rights-based approach to development;
  • Helping to educate the people to fulfil their moral responsibilities in alleviating human suffering, removing its causes and promoting social justice;
  • Promoting gender equity and child protection & rights.
