Dr Pramod Kumar Jaret Dr Pramod Kumar Jaret has completed his graduation and postgraduation from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. Currently he is posted as Assistant Professor of Medicine in IGMC Shimla. He has done a 6 weeks short term course in Critical Care Medicine from PGI Chandigarh. Doctor Jaret is an active member of API, ISCCM and RSSDI. He has been awarded a 6 week WHO fellowship on the subject of Antimicrobial Resistance from Karolinska Institute, Sweden during Feb-March 2012. His job profile includes teaching MBBS, BDS and PG students in core subject, besides providing the comprehensive health care to patients attending Medical OPDs, Wards and emergencies. He has made various presentations on Anti Microbial Resistance.

 

Vishal Diwan, Msc, MIH, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Public Health & Environment is also a Post Doctoral Fellow in Division of Global Health (IHCAR), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. He has more than 9 years of research experience in the field of Public Health, particularly with antibiotic and environments, waste treatment, working with informal providers, surveys and geographic information systems. He has been a researcher on projects like use of health management information systems and GIS in public & private health research, in tuberculosis, and has worked with exploring models of public private partnerships for maternal and child health, and in survey research at the Palwa epidemiological demographic surveillance site. He has widely travelled in Europe and Asia in relation to his research.

Mr. Vishal is having total nine publications in his name and is currently handling 6 different national and international projects. He has also received various scholarships and grants in his academic and professional career.

 

Dr. Sonal Saxena is graduate and postgraduate from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She is currently Professor in Department of Microbiology, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi.  She has been actively involved in teaching MBBS, MD, Nursing (B.Sc. and Diploma) and MLT students and is currently also involved in the medical education cell of the institute. She has been Supervisor and co-supervisor in many dissertations and is actively involved in many research projects.  She has been examiner at MBBS and MD level and MCI inspector.  Her main areas of interest include antibiotics resistance detection and surveillance. She has worked on MRSA, VRE, ESBLs and MBL detection in Gram negative organisms. 

She was awarded WHO fellowship on Antimicrobial resistance at KarolinskaInstitutet, Stockholm, Sweden in 2012. She is currently member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Association of Medical Microbiology, Delhi Chapter and has been Coeditor of souvenir for MICRO-D-CON. She was organizing Joint Secretary and editor of souvenir of the 36th Annual Conference on IAMM “MICROCON” held at IHC Delhi in November 2012. She is also member of State task force on DOTS under Revised National Tuberculosis program.  She has been involved in organizing various workshops and conferences as resource persons and is member of various committees at College and University level. She has written book on bacteriology and has coauthored many national and International publications. She has also authored a chapter in prestigious Chicken soup series (“Chicken soup for the Indian Doctors Soul”).

 

  Dr. (Mrs.) Sumeeta Khurana is Associate Professor, Department of Parasitology, PGIMER, Chandigarh. She completed her MBBS from IG Medical College, Shimla and her MD in Microbiology from AIIMS, New Delhi. She did her fellowship from International Medical Sciences Academy (FIMSA) and was awarded WHO fellowship to attend a course at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden from 10 Feb to 22 March 2012. She has also been awarded membership of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MAMS) in 2009. She is an active member of National Academy of Medical sciences (MAMS) Oct 2009, Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists, Indian Society for Parasitology, Indian Science Congress Association, Hospital Infection Society of India, Indian Immunology Society, Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology LM 129, Gastrointestinal Infection Society of India and Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists-OL 975 (2011). Dr Sumeeta is the author of 22 National and 18 international publications till date. She is also the author of few chapters in some books. Some of the focal areas of her research are Opportunistic parasitic infections including cryptosporidiosis, microsporidiosis, Toxoplasmosis, Trichomoniasis, CNS parasitic infections,Ocular parasitic infections.

 

Dr. Megha Sharma (M.Sc.- Drugs and Pharmaceutical Chemistry; PhD) is Asst Prof in Department of Pharmacology, R. D. Gardi Medical College, Ujjain, India. She is Post Doctoral research fellow at Division of International Health (IHCAR), Karolinska Institutet in the research team lead by Prof. Cecilia Stålsby Lundborg. In addition, she is the coordinator of a collaborative research project titled “Antibiotic pollutants in waters and resistance in rural India-Interventions to improve antibiotic resistance Management (APRIAM)” since 2007. Her main areas of research are use of antibiotics and hygiene; focusing hand hygiene and personal hygiene both among healthcare workers and community. She has collected the data of antibiotic prescribing for over 0.1 million admitted patients from two tertiary care hospitals in central India. She has established a strong system of manual data collection in the study hospitals, with the help of nursing staff. She is working as the main researcher in an intervention study focused to improve hand hygiene and introduction of alcohol based hand rub in a health care facility in central India.

She has been regularly involved in teaching to 4 year undergraduate medical students in India and in academic activities held at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. She has supervised International students for their Master of Science degree from the Division of International Health (IHCAR).  She has several published research articles in indexed international journals. Her work has been acknowledged and awarded in many International and National conferences.
